The University is currently developing the first phase of a learning and teaching spaces development at SA1 on Swansea waterfront, the newly developed learning spaces will move away from the traditional model of lecture delivery to a student centred, active/collaborative learning methodology. To support this change UWTSD will provision collaborative learning technologies and Audio/Visual solutions that will support student centred, active/collaborative learning throughout the new development. The solution will involve hardware and software provision, licensing, integration with existing software and hardware, ongoing support and maintenance and user training. The University has recently launched Yr Athrofa: Institute of Education. At the core of Yr Athrofa is the Professional Learning Partnership — over 100 schools working with UWTSD to develop and deliver a new form of teacher education. This partnership, launched on 16.5.2016, has started work on improving the way in which professional learning is planned, provided and evaluated.
