Til brug for røggasrensning tilføres aktivt kul til røggassen for at udskille dioxiner og tungmetaller fra røgen, inden den udledes til atmosfæren. På de 2 værker er der et estimeret årligt forbrug på ca. 123,5 tons aktivt kul (baseret på forbruget i 2019). Indkøb og leverancer af aktivt kul, udbydes derfor som indkøbsaftale til interesserede leverandører.
