Description
Design, construct and commission resilience works to the current Mogden Sewage Treatment Works (STW). Lot 1: Purpose The Contractor shall design, construct and commission a resilience scheme for the current Mogden Sewage Treatment Works (STW) to support the works to, reliably and sustainability meet its flow and quality consent for a design population equivalent (PE) projected to be 2.4 million. Including: • Improvements to the resilience and capacity of secondary treatment. • Improvements to the resilience of the Sludge and Digester Streams and prepare them for AMP8 work. The following is a summary of the project scope: • Upgrades to the Main Pumping Station to provide capacity, resilience and protection to downstream processes, including: o High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical infrastructure; • Capital maintenance work and improved process control to increase the resilience of the activated sludge plants (ASPs) including: o C Battery Blower replacement and ASP works including RAS Plant improvements, o D Battery Blower replacement, o E Battery Blower power supply. • New sludge treatment facilities to increase capacity, improve Asset reliability and provide resilience. This includes: o additional thickened sludge blending tank with odour control; o modifications to raw sludge thickening streams; o modifications to the sludge Import Facility to provide capacity in the sludge thickening stream. • Digester Modifications including capital maintenance work on mixing Plant, replacement of roofs and preparatory works for a future sludge scheme by enabling sequential primary digestion. • Replace the existing gas forwarding compressors and waste gas burner • Capital maintenance works to replace or upgrade existing HV and LV Switchboards; • Improve the resilience of the site Process Control Network • Modifications to the power management Plant and upgrade of the site SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) Plant • Other works to upgrade the capacity of the existing Plant for the 2026 growth scenario • The Contractor shall also be responsible for preparing and submitting the planning application on behalf of the Purchaser, if this is required for the works
