Description
The safety task force has been set up at Network Rail to significantly reduce the risk of track workers being involved in accidents or near misses with trains and to improve track worker safety around planning and technology. The safety task force team’s role is the delivery of a strategy for track worker safety encompassing key national safety initiatives looking to drive the widespread use of technology to protect track workers. The team works in partnership with the supply chain to ensure consistently high safety standards and practice for all track workers. Furthermore, the Planning4Delivery programme has also been introduced to enhance planning and delivery. This PIN is looking for feedback in order to understand market capability and highlight (if any) limitations in relation to track warning systems. The proposed new framework agreement will cover both goods and services. The framework agreement may be divided into lots but this lot configuration has not yet been confirmed. Track warning systems are required in order to significantly reduce the risk of track workers being involved in accidents or near misses with trains to improve track worker safety around planning and technology.
