The aim of Support Services for children and their families is to provide individualised programmes of support which build on the strengths of families and enables: — Parents and carers to fulfil their parenting and caring role and for families to lead ‘ordinary lives’. — Enable children and their families to engage in life enriching activities within the community and have improved quality of life. The PDPS is split into eight lots The PDPS length is 10 years. The PDPS will commence from 3.11.2016. The PDPS will remain open during the 10 year period; this means that following the initial assessment and establishment of the PDPS, providers can apply to be added to PDPS at any point in time. Although providers may apply at any time, applications will only be assessed by the named organisations then added to the PDPS at certain points during the year. Following commencement of the PDPS applications will only be accessed after 1.2.2017. Lot 1 — Care and Personal Support (including domiciliary and social care) To provide care and support: in the home or out in the community. This may include but not be limited to: — Personal care tasks. — Outreach support. Lot 2 — Complex health needs To provide health care to a child as delegated or supervised by a registered children's nurse, in order to support parents and the family to maintain family life, through sharing responsibility for meeting the child health needs as agreed. Lot 3 — Educational and Learning Support Purpose of service To provide support within an education setting to enable children to meet their outcomes for education and learning, placing them at the centre of service delivery. Lot 4 — Behavioural Support To provide support to children who display behaviour that challenges as part of a multi-agency response to meeting an assessed need. Lot 5 — Short Breaks / Leisure, Outreach and Recreation To provide a service which offers families the opportunity to take a short break from their caring responsibilities and so assist family cohesion. This could include but not be limited to evenings, weekends and holidays. Lot 6 — Family Support To provide a range of support for families to enable families to stay together and to improve the quality of their lives. Lot 7 — Support Planning To provide support for children and their families to develop, construct and agree an individualised support plan. The planning process and support will follow as closely as possible to the ‘What good looks like’ as outlined in service requirements. Lot 8 — Other specialist services including Brokerage To provide support to enable children and their families to organise any help that they need to meet the outcomes of their support plan.
