TENDER FOR THE PROVISION OF SERVICES RELATED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF STATUTORY QUALITY ASSURANCE GUIDELINES ON WORK-INTEGRATED LEARNING

Published

Description

QQI has undertaken to develop a new set of quality assurance guidelines on work-integrated learning (WIL), outlining important considerations for education and training providers for the quality assurance of programmes that incorporate WIL. The provision of WIL is underpinned by the general principles of quality assurance and enhancement and subject to the expectations set out in QQI’s Core Statutory Quality Assurance Guidelines, as well as other relevant topic-specific and sector-specific guidelines . The proposed guidelines for WIL will apply in conjunction with these. As noted within QQI’s Policy on Quality Assurance Guidelines , quality assurance guidelines are intended to act as a ‘springboard’ for improvement and enhancement of QA – they are not intended to provide a compliance checklist. The proposed guidelines will build upon existing quality assurance and enhancement arrangements and incorporate specific considerations with regard to WIL, including, for example, consistency of approach to instances of WIL (insofar as this is practicable or desirable), and collaboration and communication with learners and employers in the development and implementation of WIL.
