Published

Description

The BBC is looking to appoint a single supplier to manage the Bar Operation for Radio 1’s Big Weekend in the years 2025, 2026 and 2027 and Radio 2 in the Park 2026 and 2027. Tenderers are invited to submit a response for Bar Operator for Radio 1’s Big Weekend and Radio 2 In The Park. There may be the additional opportunity to be the preferred supplier for additional ad-hoc events as they arise over the period of the contract. However, the BBC reserves the right to direct award or conduct a further Tender process for similar events during the term of this contract. Radio 1’s Big Weekend began in 2003 and has evolved over 20 years into a 3 day multi-stage production featuring over 100 Artists. It is Radio 1’s flagship live event and traditionally takes place on the May Spring bank holiday weekend, kicking off the UK’s festival season. As a touring show it moves to a new UK location each year with previous events having taken place at locations such as Stockwell Park Luton, Camperdown Park Dundee, War Memorial Park Coventry, Stewart Park Middlesbrough, Singleton Park Swansea, Burton Constable Hall Hull, Powderham Castle Exeter and more. Past Big Weekend Main Stage headliners have included Coldplay, RAYE, The 1975, Lewis Capaldi, Harry Styles, Florence and the Machine, Miley Cyrus, Rhianna, Foo Fighters, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Kings of Leon and more. Radio 2 In The Park is an annual three day event that celebrates the best of the station’s music, with extraordinary live performances from an array of top UK and international artists, reflecting the diversity of the networks playlist and bringing the radio presenter personalities to new audiences. Mainstage performances have included Pet Shop Boys, Kylie Minogue, and Status Quo. Alongside the mainstage, Radio 2 In The Park will host a second covered stage, which will primarily be a DJ led stage, which will celebrate the music and culture of the 80s and 90s.
