On behalf of England’s Connected Heartland 5G Innovation Region (ECH 5GIR), Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) will procure a Contract for a single Supplier to install and operate 5G mobile private network managed services for Rail Lines in the ECH region. Lot 1: On behalf of England’s Connected Heartland 5G Innovation Region (ECH 5GIR), Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) will procure a Contract for a single Supplier to install and operate 5G mobile private network managed services for Rail Lines in the ECH region. The procurement will evaluate tenders based on the specification for a scenario deployment for the East West Rail Line (Bicester to Bletchley), with the possibility to extend the network to further locations during the term. The network will underpin a wide array of applications, from providing passenger Wi-Fi and Point of Sale applications, rail operations, real-time information services to support the technological needs of the rail line, and smart agricultural applications for trackside neighbours.
