Documents on Irish Foreign Policy (DIFP), a project of the Royal Irish Academy, invites tenders for the production of volume VIII in the DIFP series (see www.difp.ie and www.ria.ie for further details). DIFP wishes to subcontract the production of the volume to a publishing consultant.The time limit for the receipt of completed tenders is 22 March 2012.The completed tender is to be submitted by e-mail to difp@ria.ie.DIFP will assess the tender on the basis of track record, project structure, turnaround time and price.DIFP will provide the draft text of DIFP VIII to the publishing consultant in MS Word form. The publishing consultant will then be required to undertake and manage the:- typesetting;- copyediting;- indexing;- printing;and- general productionof the volume in consultation with DIFP staff, editors and other RIA staff and officers as required. Copy-editing is to be undertaken by a professional copy-editor with a proven track record and proven experience copy-editing twentieth century Irish political history - preferably twentieth century Irish diplomatic history.To meet the two-yearly publication schedule for DIFP volumes laid down by the partners to the project (The Royal Irish Academy, the National Archives of Ireland and the Department of Foreign Affairs) it is essential that DIFP VIII appear in print by the last week of October 2010 at the latest. No extension to this date is possible.DIFP volumes are Academy publications published bearing the Academy imprint. The published text is to follow the same high and exacting standards of all previous volumes in the DIFP series.Completed volumes are to be packed face down in boxes of not more than ten copies per box and delivered to the RIA.This is a single stage tender, any candidate may submit a tender.Please quote for 750 copies.
