An essential part of UKAEA’s mission is to maximise the scientific and socioeconomic benefit from research at UKAEA, to demonstrate the near-term benefits of the fusion R&D programme. A strong intellectual property portfolio will be essential to deliver this mission. UKAEA is seeking to appoint a panel of patent attorney firms (maximum number of 2 patent firms) and Patent/IP Search provider (single provider) to provide high quality, professional and expert services relating to UKAEA's intellectual property portfolio. Lot 1: IP Patent Attorney Services UKAEA is seeking to appoint a panel of patent attorney firms (maximum number of 2 patent firms) to provide high quality, professional and expert services relating to UKAEA's intellectual property portfolio. Our IP portfolio covers a very wide range of areas including, but not limited to: novel materials, software, robotics, manufacturing, management of hydrogen isotopes, magnets, plasma, sensors and diagnostics, waste management and decommissioning, thermal management, and power generation technologies. The contract will be for an initial period of 3 years (36 months), with a further 1 year extension period up to a combined total of 4 years (48 months). Patent attorney firms: The anticipated contract value of the term is, £1.5 million however there is no commitment to spend up to this amount. Services will include, but not be limited to: Invention mining/harvesting; Drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications; Preparing and filing design registrations; Preparing and filing trade marks; Provision of timely reminders of case deadline; Instruction of overseas attorneys; Arrangements for renewals; Secondee resource to support in-house team. Lot 2: IP Landscaping Services UKAEA is seeking to appoint a Patent/IP Search provider (single provider) to provide high quality, professional and expert services relating to UKAEA's intellectual property portfolio. Our IP portfolio covers a very wide range of areas including, but not limited to: novel materials, software, robotics, manufacturing, management of hydrogen isotopes, magnets, plasma, sensors and diagnostics, waste management and decommissioning, thermal management, and power generation technologies. The contract will be for an initial period of 3 years (36 months), with a further 1 year extension period up to a combined total of 4 years (48 months). Patent/IP Search provider: The anticipated contract value of the term is £300,000 however there is no commitment to spend up to this amount. Tasks will include: prior art searches, technology landscape searches, validity searches, watching searches
