Description
UiT, the Arctic University of Norway, plans to upgrade the senders and receivers (the transducer units) in a multi-ray echo sounder system on FF Helmer Hanssen. The system is a Kongsberg Simrad EM300, 1x2 grades. The multi-ray echo sounder system consists of 2 main components: 1 'transceiver' unit, which is assembled internally in the vessel and transducers for senders and receivers which are assembled on the hull. The 'transceiver' unit was replaced a while ago, whilst the transducers are to be replaced in a dry dock at a shipyard.
