Description

The overarching aim of leisure, events and parks within Manchester is to raise participation on sports and physical activity programmes, events and healthy activities in general, with the resultant benefits on residents’ health and wellbeing. Currently the Council’s Sport and Leisure Service is responsible for delivery of development services, outreach activities, event bidding and coordination, and implementation of the strategy in neighbourhoods and across more than 757 publicly accessible sport and leisure assets throughout the city. A contract for the operation of the Council’s 20 sport and leisure facilities is to be awarded by summer 2018. Member data will be held on third-party owned systems, which will be accessible to the Council. The Council is now seeking an innovative, integrated digital solution to support its work. It has captured its core requirements and is looking to discuss possible solutions with suppliers before embarking on formal procurement activities.
