Description

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center Stem Cell Medicine is housed within the University of Copenhagen. The Center was launched 1st of January 2022 by funding through the Novo Nordiks Foundation and will drive translational research within the field of Stem Cell Medicine. The center operates Nodes in three different countries, but this transparency note is specific and restricted to the Node residing at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Lot 1: We are planning to buy a BD FACSymphony A5-SE analyzer as legacy replacement of a 11 year old BD LSR Fortessa analyzer owned by the institute and operated by more than 50 independent users. The FACSymphony A5-SE will provide the desired and unique ability to provide both classical single-detector based mono-detector assays as well as spectral flow cytometry. The key - and therefore unique - factor is the patented cascadecagon Lonpass/Bandpass filter setup of the A5-SE were the instrument stays flexible due to the ability to manually change, in user applicable fashion, the light cutting elements. This will enable the center to continue to operate classical Flow Cytometry as required for a larger set of legacy protocols coming from the to be replaced Fortessa setup, while retaining the ability to advance the technology with the maturation of spectral capabilities in parallel.
