The London Borough of Merton (“the Council”) is inviting tenders to submit bids for Merton Libraries Self-Service Replacement Project. The requirement consists of 4 Lots. Lot 1 the replacement of existing self-service kiosks and integrated payment systems, which support customer transactions across 7 library sites, a solution for our handheld stock management devices and staff pads. Lot 2 the replacement of existing Self –Access Technology across 5 library sites. Lot 3 replacement Fixed People-Counter systems across 7 libraries. Lot 4 the replacement of Self-Service Tablets and docking stations across all 7 sites. Lot 1: Lot 1 Self-Service Kiosks, Staff Pads and Handheld Stock Management Device: To deliver and install 15 replacement RFID self-service kiosks across the estate. These kiosks will feature an integrated payment system, allowing customers to pay by cash, card (including chip and pin, contactless and smart payments) and mobile devices such as smart phones. The system will support popular payment software including Apple Pay. Additionally, Lot 1 includes the provision of 10 replacement staff pads and 9 handheld stock management solutions. Cost estimates for the security gates and book return bins are requested but they will be contingent on the available budget. Lot 2: Lot 2 Self-Access Technology: To deliver and install replacement technology in 5 libraries (Raynes Park, West Barnes, Pollards Hill, Colliers Wood and Mitcham) that provide Library Members with safe access to these buildings and library services without the need for a staffing presence. Cost estimates for an additional 2 libraries (Morden and Wimbledon) are requested but they will be contingent on the available budget. Lot 3: Lot 3 People Counters: To deliver and install 14 fixed people counter units across 7 library locations. These fixed systems will replace existing ones and provide accurate counts of library visitors, both individuals and groups, as they enter and exit. Lot 4: Lot 4 Self-Service Tablets: To deliver and install replacement docking stations and Self-Service Tablets which allow the reading of online newspapers, journals and periodicals via designated Apps i.e. Libby/Press Reader.
