Description

CoSocius was formed on 1st May 2014 a limited company wholly owned by two two unitary Councils - Cheshire West and Chester (CWaC) and Chester East (CEC) from a number of shared service groups to provide functional support to the councils and return benefits in terms of economies of scale, greater coordination and an ability to support a wide range of sepecialist, primary back office functions. CoSocius delivers a broad range of ICT and transactional Finance and HR services. The OCT function supports all aspects of technology at over 800 locations across the geographical area that comprises the boroughs of Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East, including 300 schools for nearly 9,000 users. It support over 300 main business applications. The main Data Centre based just outside Chester offers state of the art facilities in terms of security, efficienty and reliability. <b>Roles and Responsibilities</b> CoSocius will lead this procurement, and enter into contract with the contractor to deliver services and support of its client operations. CoSocius will manage the support and maintenance contract on a day to day basis. <b>Current IT landscape Context</b> CoSocius currently supports and operates a mixed ICT estate predominately comprising of Wintel servers running Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008. Some non-Windows equipement (i.e. Unix) does exist but is of a relatively small scale. <b>Data Centres</b> Kelly House in Chester is the main data centre used by CoSocius. Kelly House is the location for servers and other infrastructure providing core business services. Requirements This equipment is to provision storage for a segregated environment within the existing infrastrucutue. The storage will be used for CoSocius clients separate to the infrastructure of the shareholding Councils. It will attach via iSCSI to the clustered server infrastructure that will be running Hyper-V and multiple VM's.
