Description

A significant amount of great work has been conducted over the years to standardise the building information landscape. This has provided guidance and helped adoption in the silos of build, operate, service and consume. Work completed during Phase 1 of the Digital Built Britain (DBB) programme highlighted that as we connect these silos, the current standards do not address the ability to have coherent information pathways through the asset information lifecycle. This observation was captured in the digital strategy issued by the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) noted a new set of standards that would enable the Level 2C bridge — this was part of the scope of the CDBB programme to support industry implementing smart infrastructure solutions. Understanding the current limitations both in standardisation as well as industry (supply chain) needs is essential. This programme of works seeks to address this challenge by understanding the current standards landscape.
