The Department of Transport are proposing to fund an extensive bridge inspection program for each of the selected bridges noted within the tender along the Shannon and some tributaries with a view of establishing the following: • The structural condition of each of the structures • Establishing a load rating on specific bridges • Identifying what maintenance work would be required (if any) on each of the bridges • Establish a maintenance plan for the bridges Limerick City and County Council will act as the lead authority for this appointment.
