The objective of the Local Authority is to implement a range of energy efficiency and decarbonization measures across its owned assets to test a variety of approaches with a view to developing a scalable model for decarbonization. For the Local Authority, the principles are to reduce Carbon emissions by 51 per cent and increase renewable energy generation by 50 per cent by the year 2030. Galway City Council have identified an area of land that is suitable for land based solar PV project which it wishes to progress.
