This PIN is to gauge market ability to assist the Council with the stray dog service within Chichester District. This includes: — providing a reception point for the public to take strays 24 hours/7 days a week/365 days a year (please see the note below), — collecting stray dogs as requested by the Council, — scanning for microchips and checking databases, — maintaining the statutory register of detained dogs, as required by the Environmental Protection Act 1990, — maintain an appropriate number of kennels for stray dogs, — provide suitable care whilst the dog is in care and comply with the general duty of care under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, including arranging veterinary care where necessary, — rehoming unclaimed animals, — dealing with members of the public who may make a notification of a stray or who have lost a dog, — receiving payments for boarding and animal retrieval, — maintain records for duration of stay for stray dogs, all accounts including charges to dog owners, charges to the Council and vet bills, etc., — arrange return of dogs to their owners, — provide easily accessible information to the public on stray dogs collected in order to aid return to original owner. We would be interested to hear from companies who may be able to provide all or some of the above. If a 24 hour operation is prohibitive to you, we would be interested to hear from operators who may be able to run a reduced level of service, such as 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. for reception of strays, collection in normal office hours, but 7 days a week. If you are interested in delivering these services please attach yourself to the project via the In-tend system at https://in-tendhost.co.uk/sesharedservices/aspx/Home To do this, your organisation will need to be registered on the In-Tend system. If your organisation is not registered on the SE Shared Services In-tend portal, please go to the website stated above and click on the 'Register' tab — registration is free. Logging into In-Tend (once registered) — to view this opportunity please click on 'Tenders' then 'Current' and then scroll down to the project - the project has a reference of 'CDC — 029664' and title of 'CDC — Stray Dog Services', — select ‘View Details’ on the relevant opportunity, — clicking the ‘Express Interest’ tab will attach your organisation to the project. No further action is required at this time. If the Council proceeds to tender this requirement, you will be notified when the tender documents are issued.
