Description
National Framework for the supply of Hypodermic Needles & Syringes to NHS Scotland. Lot 1: Safety Hypodermic Needles We require a Safety Hypodermic Needle which supports effective and efficient insertion for injecting substances into the body or can be used to extract fluids from the body within different environments that can be expected across NHS Scotland. A safety hypodermic needle is commonly used with a syringe (either Luer Lock or Luer Slip), whilst retaining rigidity to maximise first pass insertion rate and minimise patient risk / discomfort. Lot 2: Safety Insulin Needle & Syringe We require an insulin safety needle and syringe combination which are needle-based safety devices pre-attached to syringes that protect the clinical staff from accidental needlestick injuries. The product should be easy to use considering the range of applications that this is used across NHS Scotland acute settings. Lot 3: Blunt Fill Needle with Filter We require a Blunt Fill Needle with Filter that supports the effective filtration of containment particles when drawing up medication from either plastic, glass and / or rubber ampoules, within different environments that can be expected across NHS Scotland and is commonly used with a syringe (either Luer Lock or Luer Slip). Lot 4: Blunt Fill Needle without Filter We require a Blunt Fill Needle without Filter that supports the drawing up of medication within different environments that can be expected across NHS Scotland and is commonly used with a syringe (either Luer Lock or Luer Slip). Lot 5: Luer Slip Syringes We require a Luer Slip Syringe for use within different environments that can be expected across NHS Scotland. One of the primary functions of a Luer Slip Syringe is to be used in conjunction with the Safety Hypodermic Needles. Lot 6: Non-Safety Hypodermic Needles We require a Non-Safety Hypodermic Needle which supports effective and efficient insertion for injecting substances into the body or extracting fluids from the body within different environments that can be expected across NHS Scotland. A non-safety hypodermic needle is commonly used with a syringe (either Luer Lock or Luer Slip), whilst retaining rigidity to maximise first pass insertion rate and minimise patient risk / discomfort. Lot 7: Safety Engineered Needle Devices (SENDs) for Insulin Pens We require a Safety Engineered Needle Device (SEND) for use with an insulin pen.
