Description

Mid Sussex District Council (MSDC) invites suitably capable infrastructure providers to attend a market engagement event. MSDC is exploring options for the installation and maintenance of full fibre network (layer 1) circuits allowing for a minimum of 1 Gbps (gigabits per second), it is anticipated that the contract would commence June 2019. Interested bidders should confirm their interest by emailing: procurement@horsham.gov.uk before 17:00 on Monday 7.1.2019. Please note that this is a combined works and services contract. Mid Sussex District Council (MSDC), invites suitably capable telecommunication and network infrastructure providers to attend a Pre-Market Engagement Event on 17.1.2019. MSDC are currently exploring options for the design, installation, operation and asset maintenance of a full fibre network (Layer 1) circuit, which will enable the connectivity of public sector sites across the Burgess Hill region. MSDC have been successful in securing additional funding through the Local Full Fibre Network Programme (LFFN) operated by the Broadband Development UK (BDUK) programme within the Department for Digital, Media, Culture and Sport. The Authority therefore aims to Build, Operate and Maintain the network under a commercial arrangement, that will enable further investment in public services and compliment the wider Burgess Hill Growth Programme. This pre-market engagement event will therefore assist Mid Sussex in developing the optimum contracting landscape with Suppliers, with a view to undertaking a procurement exercise for the works and services contract, during early 2019. MSDC reserves the right not to proceed with the procurement exercise if a viable proposition is not identified. The Market Engagement Event for the provision of fibre networks will take place on Thursday 17.1.2019 (at a venue and time to be notified — to be in Burgess Hill, or Haywards Heath). MSDC will provide a short presentation of the project(s), followed by the opportunity for organisations to have a 15-30 mins 1 to 1 meeting with the Authority and its representatives, which will be focused on understanding from the supplier’s perspective, the optimum contracting approach that the council could consider. Those organisations who are registered and have confirmed their interest, by emailing procurement@horsham.gov.uk by 17:00 on Monday 7.1.2019, will be provided with further detailed information. Please indicate in your response if you would like a 1 to 1 meeting. Please note that the contract value is indicative only. There is a minimum 2 000 000 GBP spend but this could be increased with other projects that the Council and its partners are currently considering.
