Work done so far A Microsoft Azure Expert Managed Services Provider (MSP) has already completed a Cloud Migration Engagement with the Council and formulated a business case with a recommendation to migrate from the on-premise data centre to the Azure public cloud. Which phase the project is in Not applicable Existing team DCC's Digital and Technology Service team is a mix of temporary and permanent staff, specialising in multiple ICT disciplines. We provide a wide range of services including technical architecture, IT strategy, cyber security, service desk, infrastructure support, application support, project management, change management, etc. The wider Council has information governance and data and intelligence expertise. It is expected that the successful supplier will leverage relationships within Microsoft, particularly working with Devon's account team. Address where the work will be done For onsite work, the location is County Hall, Topsham Road, Exeter EX2 4QD. The supplier is expected to operate a hybrid working model, with some tasks performed at County Hall and others conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams. Working arrangements The organisation may work remotely but will be required to spend some of their working time at DCC County Hall, Exeter, depending on the activity required. Where the supplied staff will work South West England Who the organisation using the products or services is Devon County Council Why the work is being done The Council aims to optimise its use of the Microsoft Tool Set, maximising it's investment in Microsoft technologies, particularly in data, artificial intelligence, and cloud services. The business problem you need to solve Increased use of Microsoft tools and services to support the Council in transforming the way we work to improve outcomes for the people of Devon. Projects are expected to include, but are not limited to: - Transitioning from an on-premise data centre infrastructure to Public Cloud (Azure) in order to maximise the resilience of IT services. * - Taking advantage of robust disaster recovery solutions, and enhancing business continuity. - Advising the Council as to the best way to establish and configure automation tools and leverage AI to automate repetitive tasks, streamlining workflows and utilising chat bots to handle enquiries, providing support for and automating interactions whilst ensuring this is carried out in a governed and secure manner. - The provision of expertise, design, configuration and support in ensuring that the Council's data can be safely and securely stored, and analysed to make it easier for the organisation to derive insights and make data driven decisions. The partner may need to work autonomously or collaborate with our internal staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team. ----- * Moving to Azure is expected to improve agility, scalability and transparency of cost. The current data centre is primarily running on VMware vSphere and is expected to move to the Azure public cloud and adopt a combination of Azure services as suitable replacement. This transition work being progressed to align with on-premise data centre contractual end dates in December 2025. First user type: The primary users of our services are DCC staff providing services to the residents of Devon. First user type: IT professionals working in the Digital Technology Service.
