Description

The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage is seeking tenders for the provision of a wardening service on Great Saltee Island in the 2025 breeding season. The undertaking of this project is considered by the NPWS to be a conservation measure for the protection of the qualifying interest bird species of the Saltee Islands Special Protection Area. This includes in particular those seabird species whose breeding habitats extends upwards from the cliff face onto more level ground that is closer to those areas frequented by visitors to the island e.g. Puffin, Gannet, Cormorant. Also the qualifying interest Grey Seal of the Saltee Islands Special Area of Conservation.
