Description
Offshore Renewable Energy ("ORE") Catapult has a requirement to build a Technology Development Centre ("TDC") and to do so, it needs to refurbish an existing storage building at our site in Blyth, Northumberland, which is approximately 1800m2 in floorspace.\r The aspiration for the refurbished building and the new office space is for it to both reflect and inspire the innovative and renewable energy creative nature of the business. \r ORE Catapult require the fabric of the building to be refurbished and to create a two (2) story office space within the building.\r Whilst it is ORE Catapults preferred solution to have one (1) main contractor to deliver a turnkey solution, as all work needs to be completed ready for the occupation of the building by Monday 08 June 2023, the tender has been broken into several Lots to reflect the nature of the various industries likely to bid. However, all contractors are expected to work seamlessly with the main Lot 1 Contractor to ensure the deadline of 08 June 2023 is achieved.\r Suppliers may apply for one or more of the following Lots.\r Lot 1 Refurbishment of the building currently known as Shed D, this will include the provision of lab and furnished office space within the building; £2.6m\r Lot 2 Installation of 11kV electrical supply with associated transformer compound with switch gear; £700k\r Lot 2 (optional) Supply and installation of electrical infrastructure to support the Mini-eGrid project. £110k\r Lot 3 Provision of external weather proofing to the 6MW Pitch bearing test rig; £350k\r \r Critically, the total budget available for this entire project, but the funding available for each Lot stated above is a guide only, as where we can make savings to any one Lot it will allow more funds to be released into other Lots, if proved necessary. \r \r A bidder conference and site visit has been arranged for Tuesday 16 November 2022 at 1400 hrs. Tenderers are strongly advised to attend. Those tenderers wishing to attend are to register their interest by completing the Appendix 7 Site Visit Attendance Form and submitting by email to procurement@ore.catapult.org.uk no later than Friday 11th November 2022. \r Due to capacity issues on site, we require a maximum of two (2) people from each company attend, but virtual attendance can be arranged. \r
