Description
The Trust is seeking to appoint a student and staff housing partner to secure investment and expertise to construct, refurbish and operate staff and student accommodation (c. 375 beds) at the Site over a period of up to 50 years from practical completion. The project is envisaged to involve: — new build and extensions comprising c. 200 beds, — refurbishment and remodelling of existing residences comprising c. 150 beds, — restoration of a Grade II listed building. Throughout the term of the project with the SSHP the Trust requires the ability but not the obligation to nominate student rooms annually, and for Trust staff to be given priority if vacancies arise in the staff rooms. The SSHP will be responsible for marketing the accommodation to secure occupancy in order to minimise vacancies as well as providing soft and hard facilities management services. Further information on the scope of the procurement is set out in the memorandum of information. The project will be delivered through a special purpose vehicle (‘SPV’) in which the SSHP will be the majority or sole equity stakeholder. The project may involve the Trust taking a minor equity stake in the SPV. A leasehold interest in the site will be granted to the SPV and the Trust will require a capital receipt in consideration for the site from the SSHP.
