Department of Defence: Replacement of current Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Tender 2

Published

Value

50,000 EUR

Description

The Department of Defence is looking for solutions to replace/expand its mobile network signal in our Newbridge campus. The selected Contractor shall ensure that adequate mobile phone signal through the provision of a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) can be obtained in all areas of the building, across all recognised mobile networks, insofar as they are available to this level in the general locality. The selected Contractor is to take into account of the potential for high building insulation and air-tightness standards to adversely impact transmission of signal. The Contractor is required to provide the equipment necessary to comply with Mobile Phone Operator Requirements/Standards. The Contractor shall design, supply, install, commission and test a Distribution Antenna System (DAS) with sufficient bandwidth for 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G transmission. The installed DAS shall be capable of providing the specified reception of the following bands: 800 MHz band, 900 MHz band, 1800 MHz band, 2100 MHz band and 2600 MHz band In the final design of the system, all existing independent systems will be incorporated into one hybrid DAS system. The Contractor shall consult the following operators for their parameters and present design criteria for approval prior to installation. Vodafone, Eir and Three Prior to any installation works, the contractor shall obtain design parameters from the major operators and submit for approval. A detailed design with floor plan drawings that meets those criteria and that shows all proposed equipment locations and cabling routes. Floor coverage maps showing design received signal levels throughout each floor along with proposed design predicted coverage per technology (heat maps). The contractor shall make all license applications. As the Department of Defence is a live environment all works done would need to be completed in such without causing any disruption to the services that are ongoing day to day. The contractor is responsible for all fire stopping relative to the works being undertaken by such.
