Das im Bestand befindliche 1,5 Tesla MRT kann wirtschaftlich sinnvoll, durch ein Upgrade, auf den neuesten technischen Stand gebracht werden. Lot 1: Das im Institut für Diagnostische und interventionelle Radiologie vorhandene 1,5T MRT­ System MAGNETOM-AERA soll durch ein Upgrade aufgerüstet werden. Das bestehende System wurde 2012 installiert und dient der Patientenversorgung und Forschung in der Kinderradiologie. Durch die heutigen Anforderungen im Bereich Patientenversorgung und bestehenden Forschungsprojekten ist es erforderlich, Gradientensystem und die HF-Elektronik auf den neuesten Stand der Technik zu bringen. Dies ermöglicht es, das System für weitere Jahre auf dem erforderlichen technischen Stand für den klinischen Einsatz einzusetzen, um Untersuchungsregionen hochaufgelöst oder mit erweiterter Abdeckung darzustellen. Bei dem Upgrade bleiben Komponenten u.a. der Magnet als Bestandteil der „neuen" Anlage bestehen.
