Light Rail Development is in the process of preparing for the procurement of the construction of the Light Rail construction stage 5 from Bergen city centre to Åsane. The fifth construction stage runs from the city centre through Åsane to Vågsbotn, together with a continual cycle route and an extension of the Fløyfjell tunnel to Eidsvåg. The line is planned to be realised in two construction stages. The first stage is approx. 2.5 km of double track from the city centre to Amalie Skrams Vei (Sandviken) with a possible opening in 2028. The next stage is approx. 10 kilometres of double track from Amalie Skrams Vei to Åsane, scheduled to open in 2033. This stage also includes a covered car park in Åsane. The light rail route is to be connected to the existing route in Kaigaten where a new stop will be established. The route then goes in Christies gate, Småstrandsgaten, Torget, Bryggen, and Sandbrogaten. From Sandrogaten the light rail route goes in a tunnel to Sandviken and a stop in rock by Sandviken church, then further towards Amalie Skrams vei. Lot E60: Infrastructure New Sandviksvei (preparatory contract) Alterations to cables, some demolition of walls and minor buildings, facilitation for a barracks area at Koengen. Lot E61: Portaling Sandbrogaten Preparatory work and the establishment of portaging for a tunnel at Sandbrogaten, alterations to water and sewage, sheet piling, and the establishment of a temporary bridge over the construction pit at New Sandviksvei. Construction of a new road in Dreggen around Hotel Orion. Lot E63: Preparatory work Amalie Skram Preparatory work and the establishment of portaging for a tunnel at Amalie Skrams vei, demolition of houses, alterations to roads, establishment of a new road junction Amalie Skrams vei/Sjøgaten, establishment of a barracks area in Amalie Skrams vei. Lot E64: Traffic measures city centre Alterations and adjustments to some existing road junctions, alterations and moving of infrastructure (cables and water and sewage). Lot E11: City centre This is a ground contract on the stretch from Kaigaten to Sandbrogaten, including Bryggen in Bergen. Alterations to infrastructure in the ground, establishment of a rail trough, stops, road alterations, and the establishment of foot and cycle paths, comprehensive work for relaying after and sewage and technical infrastructure, establishment of large concrete culverts and pipes, sheet piling, demanding work in protected archeological area, work along the seafront that can include the use of barges, construction of 3 stops for the Light Rail, demanding traffic management for the site work, establishment of high quality natural stone paving, and the establishment of green areas. Lot E12: Sandviken This is a ground contract on the stretch from Sandbrogaten to Amalie Skrams road, including a 1500-long tunnel (the length of the tunnel can be adjusted) and underground stop (ground work and building (excluding technical equipment)), with an access tunnel that has an exit by Sandviken church. Tunnel portals, walls, relaying infrastructure, establishment of rail trough, stop in Amalie Skrams vei, comprehensive green work, comprehensive ground work, and constructions by Sandviken church, construction of portals and technical room by Sandbrogaten, re-establishment of site/barracks area by Sandbrogaten. Lot E31: Sandviken stop, technical This is a technical contract that includes the installation of ventilation, electro, water and sewage installations at the underground stop in Sandviken. Lot E41: Railway signalling The railway is constructed on the basic principle of eventually running without signalling installations, however in special areas for example, tunnels, single track areas, points, the system will be strengthened with signalling installations. The contract will consist of design, detailed engineering design, fabrication, deliveries, assembly, testing, and commissioning, and will, thus, be a total delivery of the signalling installations for the railway and point control with signals, as well as safety documentation and associated processes. Lot E42: Tele and operations support systems The contract comprises all technical control systems for the Light Rail in Bergen, including the total delivery of the central operations installation (control plant), video monitoring (ITV), automatic coach localisation (AVL) public information installations (PIA), communication installations, access control system, etc. Lot E43: Contact wire installation This is a technical contract that applies to the entire railway stretch. Contact wire masts and contact wires are to be established for the double track from the city centre to Amalie Skrams vei, with an option for the stretch Amalie Skrams vei to Åsane, including the Vågsbotn depot. The work includes assembling masts, load systems, contact wire and anchoring/extension. Lot E44: Rectifiers This is a technical contract that applies to the entire railway stretch. The contract comprises design, detailed engineering design, delivery, and installation of rectifier stations, including all electronic and mechanical equipment for railway electricity from the city centre to Amalie Skrams vei, with an option for the stretch Amalie Skrams vei to Åsane, including the Vågsbotn depot. Lot E45: Low voltage This is a technical contract that applies to the entire railway stretch. The contract comprises delivery, cabling, and installation of all technical units apart from tele and operations support systems and railway signals. This will be lighting along the route, at stops, along roads, and in technical rooms from the city centre to Amalie Skrams vei, with an option for the stretch Amalie Skrams vei to Åsane, including the Vågsbotn depot. Lot E46: Street signals This is a technical contract that applies to the entire railway stretch. The contract comprises delivery, cabling, and installation of street signals from the city centre to Amalie Skrams vei, with an option for the stretch Amalie Skrams vei to Åsane, including the Vågsbotn depot. Lot E47: Lift This is a delivery that comprises the delivery and installation of a person lift at the underground stop, possibly also for the new access to the Norrøna Hall in Sandbrogaten. Lot E48: Escalators This is a delivery that comprises delivery and establishment of escalators at the underground stop. Lot E51: Tracks This is a technical contract that applies to the entire railway stretch. The contract comprises the establishment of tracks including ballast, sleepers, fortification, and rails, as well as technical facilities in relation to rails. The work comprises delivery of both ballast tracks and fixed tracks with derailment protection from the city centre to Amalie Skrams vei, with an option for the stretch Amalie Skrams vei to Åsane, including the Vågsbotn depot. Lot E52: Points This is a pure equipment delivery that will be transferred to the track contractor. Lot E33: Platfrom shelters This contract applies along the entire railway stretch. Technical buildings are to be established at stops and public transport terminals. Execution in steel and glass with guidewalls, benches, rubbish bins, and masts for a real time system from the city centre to Amalie Skrams vei, with an option for the stretch Amalie Skrams vei to Åsane.
