Published

Description

Ofcom has duties to promote media literacy, delivery media literacy activities and encourage the delivery of media literacy activities. This ITT sets out our requirements to support children and their parents in East Birmingham to improve their media literacy skills. Over the past 10 months we have worked with community stakeholders to understand what is already happening to support media literacy skills development in East Birmingham (Hodge Hill and Yardley constituencies specifically). Based on our understanding of the existing assets and the needs, we require work that will address digital citizenship and media engagement including at least two of the following outcomes: • Behaving respectfully online, especially towards women and girls • Understanding online misinformation and disinformation • Understanding how platforms use our personal data Through this process we will commission an organisation or organisations who can work with communities in East Birmingham, including through schools, to improve media literacy skills. We require organisations to demonstrate their experience of delivering media literacy or relevant activities and it is a requirement to have good existing networks with local stakeholders. Any contract(s) awarded following the conclusion of the tender process will be for an initial duration of 12 months.
