Network Rail is looking to engage with organisations who have the capability to supply and deliver brake blocks to some of its rail fleet. The fleets in question require 11 different types of composite, cast iron, and cast steel brake blocks. Network Rail is looking to engage with organisations who have the capability to supply and deliver brake blocks to some of its rail fleet. The fleets in question require 11 different types of composite, cast iron, and cast steel brake blocks. To ensure continuity of supply throughout Control Period 6 (CP6) from 2019-2024, Network Rail is looking to potentially enter into a 5 year plus optional 12 months agreement with an organisation(s) capable of supplying and delivering the brake blocks. Network Rail asks organisations to complete a soft market testing survey. Responses to the questions within the survey are welcomed from all interested suppliers. For the avoidance of doubt no information provided in response to the survey will be used by Network Rail to assess suppliers during any potential procurement process. All information submitted as part of the survey will be used for the purposes of understanding the market place. Interested organisations are asked to request a copy of the survey via email by 16:00 GMT on 4.1.2019.
