Description

Portsmouth City Council - the 'Council' - is holding an industry day on Thursday 23rd September 2021 for the proposed major redevelopment of Tipner West, which has now been subsequently renamed as Lennox Point. Lennox Point is an ambitious and innovative development proposal for a new, car-free, waterfront neighbourhood in Portsmouth that is being directly led by the Council. It offers an opportunity to make a step change for the city of Portsmouth; providing homes and employment for local people and bringing investment into the city, to help build a sustainable new community. The development will deliver: • 3500+ new homes • 1million sq ft marine employment hub • 140 acres of land • 2250 metres of waterfront The current high level development programme is as follows: • City-wide public roadshows - Spring 2020 (Complete) • Naming consultation - Autumn 2020 (Complete) • Cabinet approval to proceed - October 2020 (Complete) • Public consultation via city-wide Local Plan - Summer 2021 • Public consultation on the masterplan - Autumn 2021 • Public exhibition of masterplan - Spring 2022 • Submission of planning applications - Summer 2022 • Public inquiry of planning applications - Autumn 2023 • Start on site (subject to planning approval) - Summer 2024 Further information on the development is available on the Lennox Point website: https://lennoxpoint.com/. The purpose of the event is to provide businesses of all types and sizes in Portsmouth and across the UK with an opportunity to hear about the Lennox Point programme, its vision and priority themes and to find out about future opportunities on one of the most ambitious mixed developments for the South Coast of England in generations. This event will be the second industry event held by the Council to help promote future business opportunities with the Lennox Point regeneration programme. The first industry day, under the previous development title of Tipner West, was held on 18th September 2019 and provided information on the programme's vision and plans. Two years on, the Lennox Point team would like to re-engage the market to: • Provide an update on the programme vision and status • Provide information on what and how we will be buying, and • Provide information on how organisations can best prepare to get involved in the scheme as a potential supplier, investor or developer Access to the event will be provided in both a physical and remote live stream / recorded basis. The physical event will be held at Lakeside North Harbour - Western Road, Cosham, Portsmouth, PO6 3EN - and will be split into a morning and afternoon session in order to accommodate what the Council expects to be a high level of interest. The morning session will run from 09:30 - 13:00 with the afternoon session following from 12:30 - 16:00. Spaces at the physical event will be limited to a maximum of 2 delegates per organisation and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Organisations are directed to the following link in order to register interest and book spaces. All bookings for places at the physical event should be made before Saturday 18th September 17:00. No registration deadline ahead of the event or restrictions on delegate numbers apply where organisations wish to access the event via remote live stream only. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/lennox-point-industry-day-registration-166071996813 On the day the Lennox Point Team and senior Council Officers will deliver a series of presentations broadly covering: • Introduction and welcoming address • An overview of strategic developments in Portsmouth, Lennox Point and an introduction to Portsmouth City Council as a client • Future opportunities for investors, developers & supply chain • Q&A panel: In conversation with Lennox Point Time will also be set aside to allow for networking and engaging with exhibitors.
