Description

The Multimodal Imaging Platform is required for the visualisation and analysis of materials and physical, chemical and biological processes at a scale of hundreds of nanometers. It is envisaged that the Platform should combine the modalities of state-of-the-art visible confocal fluorescence microscopy with imaging based on fluorescence lifetime, 2 photon fluorescence, second harmonic generation (SHG), coherent anti-Stokes (CARS), and stimulated Raman scattering (SRS). The source must be minimally perturbative for dynamic studies, the specimen being maintained as close to physiological conditions as possible, from video-rate imaging to long-term observations of sensitive specimens. Lot 1: TU Dublin seeks to extend the capacity of the FOCAS Research Institute through the award, by Science Foundation Ireland under the Research Infrastructure Programme 2021. This was awarded to Prof. Hugh J. Byrne, Head of the FOCAS Research Institute for the procurement of a Multimodal Imaging Platform. The Platform will be integrated into the Open Access facilities of the FOCAS Research Institute, TU Dublin, with associated core management, administrative and technical support, to ensure widespread access and sustainability.
