The contracting authority Southampton City CCG is seeking to direct award a contract to Countess Mountbatten Charity Hospice, for the provision of care coordination: out of hospital end of life care. The commissioner’s intention is to work with an experienced charitable partner to understand whether the current EOL coordination centre model on the Isle of Wight can be successfully replicated for the residents of Southampton City. Mountbatten is Southampton’s charitable provider of hospice care and has vast experience in reliably providing a holistic approach to end of life care supporting and benefiting people before and after death, in a place and time when it is needed most. For further information regarding this direct award and to access the reasons the CCG are proposing a direct award to Mountbatten. The CCG’s investment in this provision is 729 052 GBP per annum, total potential life of contract 3 645 260 GBP (3 years plus 2 years optional extension). The length of the contract will be 3 years plus 2 years optional extension.
