Description
The Contract is for the provision of a design team, works to include the following: to advise on works, undertake design, secure planning permission / other approvals, supervise works, liaise with contractor and issue payment certificates. This project is funded by the EU’s INTERREG IVA Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body. Loughs Agency is the lead partner on this programme, as well as project partner on the projects detailed in this PQQ document. There are two projects, each on the east bank of the River Foyle, approximately 5km apart. The projects are described below. The River Foyle is tidal and can be brackish (but not salt water) at these locations. The sites are tidal, subject to river currents and experience river floods. The river is a Natura 2000 site. Crown Estate exercises rights. The site is on the border with Republic of Ireland. In summary, works include: slipway; jetty; revetment; and stiles, fencing, gates, car park. The design team will, in summary: 1. prepare drawings and applications for purposes of obtaining planning permissions 2. prepare technical construction details including any provisions for building control approval 3. prepare tender documents including bill of quantities and any bills of reduction 4. supervise construction (reporting on same to employer) and evaluate interim and final accounts 5. carry out duties of planning supervisor ensuring that Health and Safety requirements under CDM regulations are complied with Backwater Project The project will develop angler access infrastructure. Works will take place alongside an approximately 550 metre stretch of the River Foyle in County Tyrone. Gribben Project The Gribben project aims to support the development of infrastructure to permit managed access to the River Foyle (County Tyrone) for boat users – a jetty and a slipway.
