Description
Bournemouth Borough Council is issuing this notice to provide market awareness of the potential future contract opportunity. The subject matter of this future opportunity notice is for the production and installation of nine Beach Lodges at Manor Steps (Phase Two). The future contract opportunity is subject to the Council securing planning permission, which is being submitted in March 2018 with a planning decision expected June 2018. A tender for the opportunity will be published in April 2018. Bournemouth Borough Council will be looking to appoint a main contractor to produce and install nine beach lodges during Autumn/Winter 2018/19. The works required will complete a two-phase scheme. Phase one of Bournemouth Beach Lodges was completed in April 2017, and saw the installation of fifteen lodges. The phase two scheme will be a continuation of phase one, and the additional nine lodges will be to the same high quality design and specification. The completion of the phase two works will finalise the development of the Manor Steps area. This project is part of the Bournemouth Seafront Strategy, the Council's 25-year plan to enhance and develop the seafront with the beach lodges representing a unique destination offer. The principal design of the lodges is shown within the attached photographs. These can be viewed within the 'Attachments' section of the advert. The works will consist of: • Constructing the nine lodges off site to the same high standard and specification of the current fifteen • Installation of the nine lodges once complete, using the specified craning in method Due to the high profile and well used location, as well as taking into consideration the guests using the existing lodges, the lodges are to be constructed offsite, and are required to be installed by March 2019. The estimated total value of the works is c.£475k. The Contractor will be employed on a works contract by the Council. The site civils work will be completed by the Council's in-house contractor. Suppliers can express an interest in the opportunity through the Council's eTendering website; www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk . Suppliers that express an interest through the Councils eTendering website will be automatically invited to the opportunity when the tender documents are published in April 2018. The tender documents will provide full details on the requirements for the contract. This future opportunity notice is a soft market test only. Suppliers are invited to come and view the current Beach Lodges on Wednesday 21st March 2018 before the tender documents are issued. To book an appointment to view the Beach Lodges on this day, please contact Charmaine Denny (Charmaine.denny@bournemouth.gov.uk). Undertaking a site visit will provide suppliers with the opportunity to see the intended location of the new Beach Lodges; as well as to view the current Beach Lodges that are in operation.
