The Council is seeking to appoint an electric cremator manufacturer for the design, manufacture and installation of 2 new cremators for the proposed new crematorium at Chingford Mount Cemetery. The crematorium, which will be 500-600 m2 in size, will be located in the centre of the cemetery site. It will feature a ceremonial hall, cremation area, plant room, visitor facilities, and office accommodation. The building will be single-storey and will be located next to an existing pond and access roads. The Council is conducting the procurement using the Competitive Procedure based on a potential contract period of 20 months with the new electric cremators being installed and fully operational by June 2026.
