Newport City Council (the Council), on behalf of all local authorities involved in the Cardiff Capital Region City Deal (CCRCD), aims to facilitate the procurement of different types of Gigabit capable connectivity circuits from the market to partner local authorities’ sites and/or assets. The Council and CCRCD partners invite suitably capable suppliers to a market engagement event to take place at 9:30 am on 15.10.2018 at the Civic Centre, Newport. The partners would like to use the event to present their intended approach to the market and gather feedback from suppliers in advance of the procurement going live. Interested suppliers are requested to register their attendance by email to procurement@newport.gov.uk no later than 12 noon on the 12.10.2018. Newport City Council, on behalf of all local authorities involved in the Cardiff Capital Region City Deal (CCRCD), aims to facilitate the procurement of different types of Gigabit capable connectivity circuits from the market to partner local authorities’ sites and/or assets. The CCRCD was successful in securing Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) Wave 2 Local Full Fibre Network (LFFN) funding on behalf of Blaenau Gwent, Newport, Monmouthshire and Torfaen Councils. The other local authorities in the CCRCD area will also have the opportunity to run additional call-offs later. It is not known at this time, but the procurement may also be widened to include the remaining authorities in Wales and if agreed they will be detailed in the Contract Notice when issued.. Newport City Council as the Lead and the other CCRCD partners invite suitably capable suppliers to a market engagement event to take place at 9:30 am on 15.10.2018 at the Civic Centre, Newport. The partners would like to take this opportunity to present their intended approach to the market and gather feedback from suppliers in advance of the procurement going live. Interested suppliers are requested to register their attendance by email to procurement@newport.gov.uk no later than 12 noon 12.10.2018. For clarity, this is not a call for competition.
