1 Overview Public Realm Section SDCC Public Realm Section plays a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of public spaces within the County which is home to more than 300,000 people and 6,500 businesses. There are over 220 outdoor staff in the Public Realm Section who oversee park maintenance, grass cutting, waste management, village cleansing, tree management, maintaining playgrounds, meadows and areas for biodiversity, etc. In total, there are over 1750 ha of parkland and open spaces throughout the County 185 ha of meadows to be managed, over 850 bins, 16 high-profile towns and villages, 59 parks, 57 playgrounds, installation and management of soft and hard landscaping schemes, etc. All recreation facilities, bins, grass-cutting areas, etc have been digitally mapped throughout the county. All SDCC vehicles have a GPS installed. As part of this tender process, SDCC requires the tender winner to provide an optimized route planner. 2. Preliminary Market Consultation (PMC) SDCC is conducting a Preliminary Market Consultation (PMC) to gather information from potential service providers for developing a scheduling system for the Public Realm Section. This system will automate planning, scheduling, task reporting, and data capture with a user-friendly interface that offers efficient service access, real-time updates, and a feedback mechanism for continuous improvement. Integration with existing council systems and databases is essential to ensure a smooth transition and minimal disruption to current operations while adhering to the highest data security and privacy standards. In order to assist in the development of the approach to the development and provision of this Service, South Dublin County Council would welcome input in advance of the tender process. Service providers are requested to supply details of options available for the effective delivery of this service. Brochures etc are also welcome in electronic format.
