Equipment for a Demonstrator-Scale Plant for The Microbial Production Of Acetone From Co2 and Green Hydrogen - new

PYROCO2 is an Innovation Action project addressing the Green Deal call topic LC-GD-3-1-2020 - Closing the industrial carbon cycle to combat climate change - Industrial feasibility of catalytic routes for sustainable alternatives to fossil resources. The project has started in October 2021 for a total duration of 60 months and is composed by a consortium of 20 partners from 11 countries, and is coordinated by SINTEF Industry (Norway). The main aim of PYROCO2 is to demonstrate the scalability and economic viability of carbon capture and utilization (CCU) using an innovative bioprocess route. The overarching objective is to produce climate-positive acetone out of industrial CO2 and from renewable electricity derived hydrogen, as a platform for manufacturing chemicals and materials with a negative carbon footprint. To do so, the PYROCO2 consortium will design and build a demonstrator-scale bio-chemical production plant, to be located at the industrial cluster of Herøya Industrial Park (Porsgrunn, Norway) that shows new options for European carbon-intensive industries to create value from CO2 emissions. The demonstrator development and the purchase of its parts (as standalone skid units) are of primary importance for the successful accomplishment of the project, which is of high strategic value for the EU Green Deal implementation. As part of the preliminary phase, we are hereby requesting information regarding these multi-components purchase among the suppliers in the market. In addition, the information acquired through this public hearing will facilitate the decision on the kind and number of suppliers required and the mode of operation. SINTEF and partner DTU, on behalf of the PYROCO2 consortium, will use the obtained information to prepare and initiate an EU-tender process.
