The aim is to develop a sustainable medical 3D printing facility alongside existing resources for innovation to service a growing range of clinical and research applications for the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board hospitals. A key objective is the purchase of a 3D printer suitable for the following clinical applications: Rapid prototyping of models for diagnostic and surgical planning Production of surgical stents, implant and Surgical cutting guides Production of rapid prototyping models for production of Facial and Body prostheses Production of rapid prototyping models for cardiovascular/orthopaedic and Plastic surgery applications i.e. multi material compatible. Production of orthognathic surgical models and inter-maxillary surgical wafers. Production of rapidly prototyped models for Facial trauma, assessment and repair.
