UU has current framework agreements for: • Developer Services & Lead Replacement • Meter installation, repair & exchange (AMR) • Domestic Water Efficiency Audits • Meter Supply (AMR) including the associated connectivity/communication provision These activities need to be retendered prior to 01/04/25 to concur with the start of the next AMP (AMP8 2025-2030). Lot 1: DEVELOPER SERVICES (est £20M pa) Management & delivery of metering services including planning & scheduling & streetworks management associated with: • replacement/maintenance/repair of valves, hydrants, ferrules; • mains diversions; • new connections – clean water only — survey with planned activity & material schedule; • new connections – clean water & wastewater — installation of manifolds, comm pipes, chambers/minor sewerage infrastructure; • main laying – clean water only — excavate & lay, lay only, self-lay mains connection, self-lay mains test & chlorinate; • non-standard work, eg. clean water & wastewater mains diversion for the purposes of developer work; • lead & common supply pipe replacement; METER INSTALLATION & COMMISSIONING (est £35M pa) Management & delivery of metering services including planning & scheduling & streetworks management associated with: • domestic/non-domestic/bulk meter replacement/installation/repair — internal & external (potentially including new chambers); • domestic & non-domestic internal plumbing work; • meter survey work; DOMESTIC WATER EFFICIENCY AUDITS (est £1M pa) (likely to be included in the Meter Installation activity due to scope & value) • Inbound & outbound call handling/Arranging appointments • Engaging with customer through relevant behavioural change messaging, making the interaction personal & tailored to the customer • Delivery & installation of suitable water saving interventions, taking flow measurements, & substituting alternative products where appropriate as part of the visit • Minor internal leak repairs (such as leaky loos, tap washer replacements etc.) • Remedial visits (reporting of findings & recommendations which fall outside of the initial audit) SUPPLY OF METERS (est TBC) Provision of AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) enabled Meters (circa 1M consisting of a mix of new installations & exchanges & 6.5K non-household) • Provision of the AMI enabled meter, consignment barcode information & a comprehensive meter stock control system aligned to the Contracting Entity’s billing system (Alto). • Delivery of meters to one location as required, at both Contracting Entity & Installation Contractor locations. • Regular liaison with UU & the Meter Installation Contractor DATA COMMUNICATIONS (est TBC) Technology & associated Connectivity provision for AMI • Project Network Installation & Planning • Wayleaves & Permits • PO & Hardware Procurement • Gateway Build, Test & Configure • Gateway Installation • Network Commission • AMR enabled with capability to manually read Technology & associated Connectivity provision for AMR • Hardware - Meter + Waterbox AMR – current contract • Data contract with Connectivity Provider • Portal – meter data management software & associated systems Given the 5 areas of interest (Developer Services, Meter Installation & Commissioning, Water Efficiency Audits, Meter Supply, Data Communications) as presented in the sections above, UU is keen to understand the different delivery models available. Additional information: UU are looking at better understanding the ability of the market to deliver in 5 areas as detailed below [& further detailed in (k) below]: 1)Developer Services & Lead Replacement (Works) 2)Meter Installation & commissioning (Works) 3)Domestic Water Efficiency Audits (Survey) including of water saving products 4)Supply of Meters with AMR/AMI capability 5)Data Communications (Goods/Services)
