Powys Teaching Health Board intend to source fee bids for commissions on this project via a multi-disciplinary appointment including Design and Technical Advisor of contractor tender returns for a Fire Safety Upgrade Works project at Brecon War Memorial Hospital and Bro Ddyfi Community Hospital, Machynlleth.A detailed table of scope requirements outlining requirements associated with each hospital site are included as part of the tender pack information - Scope of Works Schedule - Design – Brecon & Scope of Works Schedule - Design – Machynlleth, with outputs summarised as follows;• Fire stopping/upgrade works to fire compartment lines design and performance specification information.• Fire door remedial works design and performance specification information.• Emergency lighting upgrades design and performance specification information.• Fire alarm upgrades design and performance specification information.• Advice on dampers requiring upgrade works associated with fire compartments – HB to undertake repairs/replacements directly.• Underground duct (Brecon only) plant room entry doorway advice and specification.• Design works are to comply with applicable building standards, such as BS5266 and BS 5839 for emergency lighting and fire alarm and applicable Health Technical Memorandums and Health Building Notes such as HTM 05 02.In addition to the design component there is a requirement for Technical Advisor to review contractor tender returns.Powys Teaching Health Board recognises the importance of the Welsh language to the communities it serves. Consequently, responses to an invitation to quote or tender will be accepted in Welsh as well as English. However, please note that tender responses submitted only in Welsh will be translated by the Health Board into English before consideration.
