Description
Staff Talent Development covers several broad areas relating to the goals of the University’s strategic plan and in line with individual and departmental requirements, relating to professional and personal development. We produce an annual schedule of development opportunities responding to training needs identified through the annual staff survey, Performance and Development Review System, the University’s Strategic and Annual Operational Plans and in response to national and international developments. We also work in conjunction with schools, departments and units in response to addressing specific development requirements. In addition, we provide development and support to individuals, which include coaching and specific skills development. Some training initiatives are organised by staff category (i.e. professional, academic and research) while other initiatives target stages in the employee life cycle, i.e. orientation, career management. Other training initiatives are specifically targeted to early, mid-range and senior leadership and management. Others still are to support the University’s strong focus on research or on fostering inclusivity and diversity. Individual events are notified to staff on-line, via internal communication systems and details are also available on an on-line Calendar. In addition, development programmes and initiatives are developed to address specific line management requirements.
