Signs of Safety and Healing Training
Published
Description
Signs of Safety is an integrated framework for how to support infants, children and young people. It sets out the principles for practice; the disciplines for practitioners’ application of the approach; provides a range of tools for assessment and planning, decision making and engaging infants, children young people and their families; and describes the processes through which the work is undertaken with infants, children, young people and their families. This practice returns child protection intervention to being the catalyst that initiates behaviour change by families. Lot 1: Signs of Safety of Healing training will provide a framework for the consistent delivery of Safe and Together and Restorative practice with FGDM as a wider Practice Vision. 6. Safe and Together is a model that supports practitioners to enable children to remain in the care of the safe-parent. It encourages practitioners to think differently about how they approach domestic abuse. 7. Restorative practice and Family based Group Decision Making (FGDM) is an approach that supports practitioners in developing relationships with families to create and encourage positive change. Working with families to help build and maintain positive, healthy relationships, resolve conflict and facilitate healing. This leads to positive, long-lasting outcomes for children and families. 8. Signs of Safety and Healing, restorative practice and safe and together are complimentary frameworks that support multi-agency practitioners to work with infants, children, young people and their families and carers in a positive, collaborative and strength and safety organised way.
