Physiotherapy and Occupational Health products including: splinting, therapy (i.e. therapeutic putty, resistive exercise bands, hand exercisers, massage) consumables, electrotherapy, acupuncture, educational models and posters, tapes and strapping specific for physiotherapy, rehabilitation supplies (i.e. balance products, exercise mats and balls, weights, hydrotherapy), pelvic health, CPM machines, assessment devices (excluding hammers and percussors), sound wave therapy and spinal therapy and hot and cold therapy products. Precise quantities are unknown. It is anticipated that initial expenditure will be in the region of GBP 1 650 000 in the first year of this framework agreement, however this is approximate only and the values may vary depending on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the framework agreement. Estimated value over the maximum framework agreement term (4 years) will be in the region of GBP 6 500 000. Lot 1: Acupuncture This lot is for acupuncture products including, but not limited to: acupuncture needles – specifically designed for acupuncture and intended for insertion into the skin of the patient to stimulate acupuncture points. Acupuncture needles must: • be made from medical grade stainless steel with a plastic or metal handle; • be available in a range of lengths and thicknesses with and without guide tubes; • packaging must show that products are single use and supplied sterile; • packaging must allow access to the product whilst maintaining sterility. Examples of Acupuncture Accessories including, but not limited to: (Smokeless moxa and Acupuncture seeds). Lot 2: Electrotherapy/Ultrasound Therapy This lot is for electrotherapy products and accessories designed for use in physiotherapy and occupational therapy including, but not limited to, ultrasound therapy, as well as associated accessories including, but not limited to, probes, electrodes and lead wires. The value of purchases for the lot will be circa GBP 50 000 in the first year of the framework agreement and GBP 200 000 for the 4-year term if extended for the maximum period of 24 months. Applicants may tender for one, more than one, or all of the product lines within this lot. Lot 3: General Therapy and Exercise This lot is for a full range of general therapy and exercise products intended for use in physiotherapy and occupational therapy, including but not limited to mats, balls, rollers, skipping ropes, yoga mats, weights and resistance bands. The value of purchases for the lot will be circa GBP 950 000 in the first year of the framework agreement and GBP 3 800 000 for the 4-year term if extended for the maximum period of 24 months. Applicants may tender for one, more than one, or all of the product lines within this lot. Lot 4: Temperature Therapy Products Heat therapy improves circulation and helps muscles to relax whereas cold therapy reduces inflammation by decreasing blood flow to the area. These products can be used for all sorts of problems including muscular pain, swelling, aching joints and neck pain. This lot includes, but is not limited to single use hot/cold packs, reusable hot/cold packs, cryotherapy compression and ice making machines. The value of purchases for the lot will be circa GBP 500 000 in the first year of the framework agreement and GBP 2 000 000 for the 4-year term if extended for the maximum period of 24 months. Applicants may tender for one, more than one, or all of the product lines within this lot. Lot 5: Massage Products This lot is for a full range of massage products intended for use in physiotherapy and occupational therapy that enable controlled pressure to be applied to the body of the patient both manually and mechanically. This lot will include, but is not limited to, massage equipment and tools, massage lotion and massage oil. The value of purchases for the lot will be circa GBP 7 000 in the first year of the framework agreement and GBP 28 000 for the 4-year term if extended for the maximum period of 24 months. Applicants may tender for one, more than one, or all of the product lines within this lot. Lot 6: Posture and Balance This lot is for products intended for use in physiotherapy and occupational therapy used to help patients develop correct posture and balance and provide support for sleeping and sitting. This lot will include, but is not limited to, balance and posture products (excl. cushions) and cushions and pillows. The value of purchases for the lot will be circa GBP 1 000 in the first year of the framework agreement and GBP 4 000 for the 4-year term if extended for the maximum period of 24 months. Applicants may tender for one, more than one, or all of the product lines within this lot. Lot 7: Splinting Products This lot is for products used to make splints including low temperature thermoplastics in order to provide joint support and immobilisation as required by the patient. This lot also includes accessories used to make dynamic splints that can allow controlled movement whilst still providing support to the joint. The value of purchases for the lot will be circa GBP 500 in the first year of the framework agreement and GBP 2 000 for the 4-year term if extended for the maximum period of 24 months. Applicants may tender for one, more than one, or all of the product lines within this lot. Lot 8: Physiotherapy Tapes, Strapping and Associated Products This lot is for specific tapes and bandages for use in physiotherapy, including, but not limited to kinesiology tape, cohesive tape and other tapes and strapping. The value of purchases for the lot will be circa GBP 60 000 in the first year of the framework agreement and GBP 240 000 for the full term if extended. Applicants may tender for one, more than one, or all of the product lines within this lot.
