Published
Description
This is a call to competition by IÉ for the establishment of a qualification system for the hire of mobile all terrain cranes, with lifting capacity of 50 to 1000 tonne for use on the entire rail network (the “Contract”). The qualification system will be established for a period of four (4) years from 15.06.2023 2023 to 15.06.2027, with a option to extend into year five (5) and a second option to extend into year six (6) at IÉ’s discretion. Applicants may apply for inclusion at any stage during the life of the QS. IÉ has a continuous requirement for the hire of mobile all terrain cranes on a contract lift basis and invites applications to participate in the pre-qualification process to appoint suitably qualified companies to a qualification system for the hire of mobile all terrain cranes with lifting capacity of 50 to 1000 tonnes at various sites throughout the IE Rail Network locations. The crane company must also: • be able to supply slinger/signallers, banksmen, Appointed person and Crane Lift supervisors with specific CSCS certification as required. • be in a position to carry out plate bearing tests at the site locations if required. • All lifting equipment should be available, chains, ropes, shackles, lifting beams crane pads. • All documentation including Contract lift plans, Method statements and risk assessments must be supplied in advance. • All cranes must be in compliance to I.S. 360:2019 Code of Practice: Safe Use of Cranes in the Construction Industry. • Obtain a IÉ approved “Permit to Work/Access” before any works or services commence. The Permit to Work sets out the requirements for the selection, management, and monitoring of contractors as well as the mandatory standard practices, which apply across all IÉ locations and for any contractor who engages in civil engineering work for IÉ and/or is procured to provide plant or labour services to IÉ. Failure to comply with this obligation will result in any contract awarded from this qualification system being rescinded. • Site personal may need to be in possession of IÉ approved Personal Track Safety (PTS) Certificates should they be required to work on or near the railway line. This will be highlighted in each tender as required. Failure to comply with this obligation will result in any contract awarded from this qualification system being rescinded.
