Endoscopy Expansion Project and associated support accommodation to 1st Floor Sheares Street Block at Mercy University Hospital, Cork.

Works comprise the construction of two new Endoscopy Suites at the First Floor of the existing Shear Street Block of the Mercy University Hospital. Accommodation includes Endoscopy Suite 1 and 2, Preprocedural Room, Recovery, Reception, Nurse Base, Bulk Store, Admin rooms, ENEMA room, Privacy room, Discharge Room, Clean Utility, Dirty Utility, Cleaner Store, Electrical Room, and UAWCs. The gross floor area is approximately 277m2. Works will be completed on a live campus, with no disruption to adjoining building users and or services allowable. In order to ensure the continued operation to adjoining campus users, a high level of management, safety, dust and infection control procedures will be required on site. Contractors will be required to comply with the code of practice for inspecting and certifying buildings and works as defined in SINo.9 of 2014 Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2014. Under section 3.4, applicants must supply details of works that the applicant has provided that are similar in nature, size, scope, complexity and value to the works required for this project. As a minimum applicants must have Main Contractor and PSCS experience within the following areas: Main Contract and PSCS experience in construction and delivery of similar healthcare projects. As a minimum applicants are required to have completed at least 2 no healthcare projects of similar nature, size, scope, complexity and value, within a Level 3 Acute Hospital environment. Main Contract and PSCS experience in construction and delivery of similar healthcare projects. As a minimum applicants are required to have completed at least 1 no projects of similar nature, size, scope, complexity and value, within a live/healthcare environment. In addition to the above minimum requirements, applicants will achieve higher marks where demonstration of the following is provided; Management of Mechanical and Electrical Sub Contractors; Working outside of Normal working hours; Dust Control and infection prevention and control guidelines for the prevention of aspergillosis during renovation works/construction works; Noise and vibration restrictions; Health and Safety; Security; Patient Confidentiality and Dignity; Installation in accordance with HSE Structured Cabling Standards; Fire Alarm Avoidance of Nuisance activations; Traffic management, Parking, Security and Compound Restrictions; and Waste and Environmental Management. Projects proposed by the applicant to demonstrate the above capabilities, must be complete, with a copy of the defects certificate available upon request. Projects which have not obtained a defects certificate will not be considered as complete.
