Description

The purpose of this prior information notice is to advise the market of an upcoming procurement and engage with potential suppliers. York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust are seeking suppliers to provide Liquid Based Cytology (LBC) and Human Papilloma Testing (HPV) for its cervical cytology service based in York. The Cytology Department provides cervical screening for the NHS Cervical Screening Programme (CSP) and processes samples from most of North Yorkshire, East Riding of Yorkshire and Hull. Current workload is 72 000 samples per annum, however the current service is going out to tender and will include an additional 22 000 samples from North Lincolnshire and Goole. The NHS CSP has just announced that it plans to move to primary screening using HPV testing by 2019. The contract will be let as a Managed Service Contract to encompass the provision of Liquid Based Cytology, HPV testing and also equipment for automated (computer assisted) screening with related equipment and services.
