Das Projekt Komplex Unstrutbahn sieht die Sanierung der Strecke 6726 (VzG 50km/h) auf einer Läge von 14 km im Bereich Bf. Freyburg (Unstrut) bis Bf. Karsdorf vor. Die Strecke liegt an der Weinmeile Saale-Unstrut und stellt eine zentrale und wichtige Achse für den regionalen Tourismus per ÖPNV dar. Der Umbaubereich ist auf der freien Strecke eingleisig und im Bf. Laucha zweigleisig. Das Projekt umfasst folgende Teilprojekte: T.016083099, GE+WE ULCH, Km 12,4 - 13,4 Das Projekt GE+WE Bf Laucha umfasst die komplette Erneuerung des Oberbaus inkl. vollständiger Bettungserneuerung, Schwellenwechsel, Gleiswechsel der Gleise Gl1 und Gl2 sowie Weichenerneuerung Weichen We1 und We2. Der Umbau erfolgt konventionell. T.016090717, GEoS UFB-ULCH, Km 6,2 - 12,4 sowie T.016090718, GEoS ULCH-UKF, Km 13,4 - 20,2 Die Projekte GEoS umfassen eine Bettungsreinigung sowie den Schwellenwechsel im Abschnitt der freien Strecken zwischen Bf. Freyburg und Bf. Karsdorf. Der Umbau erfolgt maschinell im Fließbandverfahren.
