NTNU will enter into an agreement with Lumicks B.V. for the purchase of their C-Trap microscope. The system combines 3 technologies: confocal microscopy, multi-trap optical tweezers and microfluidics and is the only microscope in the world with these exact features. Options for service for the four (4) subsequent years after the end of the warranty period. Lot 1: Human diseases are caused by changes in essential biomolecules, including: DNA, RNA and proteins. Although these changes are known to cause diseases, the mechanisms behind the onset and progression of many conditions are still poorly understood. To close the knowledge gap and provide better insight into the effects of site-specific changes in DNA and RNA molecules on key proteins and protein complexes, as well as accurately analyse the impact of small molecules, ligands and peptides on receptors and hub molecules, real-time and correlative measurements of interactions at the single molecule level are required.
